"The weather won't stop us today"

On Friday I braved the horrible weather and went for the first time to Bristol's biggest fashion event that was held in The Mall at Cribbs Causeway. I was invited to get involved with the live blogging show along side 100 other Fashion Bloggers and Students from across the South West. The catwalk was hosted by ITV Day Break fashion stylist Mark Heyes and celebrity hairdresser Andrew Bart, what an entertaining pair of hosts they were! Throughout the show they were giving their exclusive hair and style advice, my favourite being a hair tip from Andrew that was to "test out a salon by having a blow dry there first before a cut". That way you will be able to decide if they provide great service, before paying lots for a haircut. I have had lots of bad haircuts in the past and by following Andrew’s advice this could easily have been prevented.

The show was one big party with complimentary M&S refreshments, music and dancing. It gave me an insight on how to wear this season’s hottest trends. My favourite trends for spring summer are monochrome, neon colour pop and floral, the outfits from John Lewis were my favourite. I enjoyed the range of models that were used; there were models of all sizes and ages that everyone in the crowd could relate their body shape to.

When the show was finished I met some of the other bloggers and attended the pamper sessions where I treated myself to a free manicure by Bourjois Paris. I also received a BFW goody bag, discount and competition vouchers (fingers crossed).

To the event I wore a bohemian vintage dress, which I bought the other day from the vintage section in St Peters Hospice Charity Shop, a simple black jumper from H&M, DM's and a leather jacket from Camden Market that I have had for years! Looking at these photos my outfit matches the Bristol Fashion Week sign, something that wasn't intended!
I went to the event with Milly, she went for the monochrome look wearing a top from Zara and burrowing my trousers from Topshop (very chic). It's great being able to share clothes with your housemate, it's like having two wardrobes!

To sum up the day, I am very glad I braved the cold and wet weather and saw the fun entertaining show. Roll on payday next week; I’m desperate to introduce neon colour pop into my wardrobe!
I can’t wait for the next Bristol Fashion Week!
